The content of these paintings embody the nature of the collision between
the natural process of gestation as it is impacted by the created environment that we inhabit.
The subject matter draws from the root systems of trees and other plant materials. The visual
similarity of these root systems to developing human internal systems are striking as they
illuminate connections to a fundamental universal reaching across boundaries. The imposition
of the implanted and/or overlaid red lines that are created by chance through inflicting paint
satuarated yarn onto the surface of the paintings are meant to convey the indeterminancy of
the impact of our cultural enviroment on who we are even before we are. It is into this dissonance
that particularity emerges.
